I do not disagree with his death
he was a man who deserved it as many do who are involved with this situation
(names with held for security reasons)
I disagree with the method (not the hanging)
The trial for which Saddam received his execution was a farce
and also one that he was mostly innocent
Yes he may have executed many people in a city
but similar, if not so drastic, actions would be taken against American citizens who attempted to assassinate an American ruler or really any ruler in any country where they have the death penalty.
This trial was put first because it was the one that would show the least dealings from the outside world.
It was run through because he was going to be found guilty eventually and why drag the world through the truth.
well enough on that. a poorly thought out ramble. I do not wish to start an argument or debate
I stayed up until 7:00 Am(japan time) waiting for this chapter to be closed
and as always (as of late) I could not hold out
I had to retire before the news came down the line
I no longer have the fortitude to stay up all night to hear the call
but what bothers me more is I think I turned in because I just stopped caring
what a sad old man I have become

the auction also includes a $50 gift certificate for white dog, english style pub close to the theatre.

There is an auction going on right now for ten tickets to the opening night of Shakespeare's Globe Theatre of London at University of Pennsylvania. The Auction ends next Monday. The show is on Nov 30 2005.
So the point here is I am interested in going I was wondering if there was a sufficient amount of other people interested in going and chipping in on the auction. The current bid is $60
also I have not forgotten about play by mail diplomacy. we still could use more players. I will probably try to get it started in October

thank you all who replied to my post.
With your help I have made a choice.
I will be seling off Supremacy.
reasoning
-I did enjoy the game, my girlfriend does not
-it is not a short game, it does not even fit into the long game catagory, it is a marathon game. ( I do not really have time for this type of game anymore)
-it is a complicated game that is almost impossible to understand on the first time through and can not be taught quickly to new players
- It is worth a good deal of money which I could use right now
- It is difficult to get the people together to play it now that everyone is living in different areas, it works better with a captive college crowd.
- it causes more arguments and hard feelings than any game apart from diplomacy and Shadowrun
so there you have it
as far as the other games I am selling
I will put a list here later
however you may not be too interested
they will be games I have never played (some of which I have never opened) and have little interest in playing
I will not be selling the games I enjoy or feel I have a chance to play again

Greetings and salutations
I am Curious if any of the people who read this have any interest in Playing Supremacy ever again.
The last few times I mentioned playing the game with people a general dislike for the game was portrayed if not directly announced. I know my girlfriend will not be playing the game and if I have no friends who are interested in it, it would be much more useful to me to sell it rather than keep it around.
please post your opinion on this subject.
Also if anyone who reads this in interested in purchasing Supremacy or knows somone who may be interested in purchasing the game please contact me.
I will also probably be selling many of my other games, so if there is any interest please put out a request.

| Live 8 and why I won't be there |

As many of you may know Philthadelphia got completely passed over when it comes to good music for the LIve 8 concert.
But that is not what this entry is about.
Ignoring my displeasure of the type of music that will be playing there is an even larger reason for not attending the Live 8 Concert.
This reason is Physical danger.
I am not talking about terrorist attacks at the shows. I am talking about the dangerous crowd.
At least two of the large names for the show , Jay Z and 50 cent, Preach and practice violence (which should be enough reason not to invite them to a world peace help the hungry type of event) However, not all, but many of there fans also practice violence, rape, murder, selling drugs, using drugs, gang violence, and the like. As has been seen in the news many concerts (these are paid concerts wherethere is security to get in and in an enclosed "controlable" environment) have resulted in beatings and stabbings, by members of the audience and by the band members themselves. There was a stabbing at a Rap music award show even.
Getting to the point many fans who have not been able to afford to see these "idols" of theirs, those from west and north Philly who spend there days standing around on street corners smoking and drinking and spend there evenings doing who knows what will be attending this concert. Philadelphia says the security will be good and there is no neeed for alarm and then in the next sentence they say they will be trying to use as little overtime as possible. This will be a dangerous place.
I have lost my train of thought.

First off the various salads under side dishes in my last post were supposed to be indented as examples of side dishes not that we need all of those specific side dishes. But that really is neither here nor there since you all figured it out. (you are so smart)
This is what it appears we have at the moment

Chris- Taco Salad, Hot dogs and buns

Nathan- Smores and cookies
Dan- Salad and Soda
Me- Smoked BBQ ribs and Hamburgers
If any of these are incorrect please advise

| Campfire/ Cookout |

Well the cookout is now 10 days away
I feel it may be time to start organizing things
Before I begin a reminder
Saturday May 21 2005 starting at 5:00 there will be a cookout and campfire at the Maslany Family residence. All are invited
Now this being said
This year (due to the fact that I am poor) I will not be able to supply the whole layout. It would be appreciated that those who come help in the endeavor
I plan on preparing 2 racks of smoked ribs for the shindig. (if there is a general consensus against smoked BBQ ribs then I will not do it) I also will be providing hamburgers.
The following is a list of things that are needed
- Side dishes
- Potato salad
- Taco salad
- Macaroni salad
- Salad
- Etc., Etc., Etc.,
- Chips
- Hamburger buns
- Condiments
- Beer
- Other Drinks
- Desserts
- Any other meat that may be required
- Anything else I may have forgotten
If you are planning and coming please inform me (in the comment section so others can see and plan what they are bringing appropriately)
If You know of someone who is coming but does not read live journals specifically mine, please first remind them of the party and second ask what they may be bringing and report it back here.
Bringing something is not required, However if you don’t we will be having hamburgers and ribs only.
